If you're trying to find someone to do paid work, try jobs.perl.org instead.

Should we be able to read your mind, or is the project so secret that you can't actually tell us what the problem is? In either case I'm afraid we can't help unless you divulge at least some information about the nature of the problem.
Ideally show us a SSCCE that illustrates the problem and a description of the issue you are having.

You and others may have missed that the OP is a first time poster, who probably doesn't know our culture and netiquette.
I thought the policy is to cut those some slack?
His vote balance is already negative, although there is no indication he provoked harsh reactions in the past.

I agree. And frankly, the question wasn't unreasonable. "I have a Perl Problem and want to pay someone to fix it for me" is, in my humble opinion, much better than the usual "Please answer my school assignement for free. And do it now, i need to hand it in tomorrow".
If the post was a spam thing, i'd understand. But this clearly just someone asking for help with a Perl problem in exchange for pieces of paper with funny pictures and numbers printed on them.
As for sending people to jobs.perl.org, yeah nope, would certainly not be what i would do. That site is mostly empty of job offerings (and has been for a loooong time), so hardly any developer is going to look there. Plus, OPs Problem sounds more like a one-time fix than a permanent job offer, so it seems better suited to students needing a quick buck (or some of our senior citizens who have too much time on their hands and need a challenge).

New or seasoned, stating "I need help" without any further substantive information is a waste of bandwidth. Aside from a reply that points to how a plea for help might better be framed (my reply did that, maybe you didn't read that far?) or that provides information to that end, what useful reply can be made? My reply stands.
