Histfile unknown option

gerases has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I have the following in my .perldb

&parse_options("HistFile=/home/sgerasenko/.perldb.hist");
[download]

When I start the debugger, I get:

Unknown option `HistFile'
Invalid option `/home/sgerasenko/.perldb.hist'
[download]

Ideas?

Your version of perl is too old to support it. I see the above behaviour with 5.8.8 but not with 5.14.3.	[reply]

Thank you, that's what I thought. I couldn't find the info on the minimum version of Perl required to support this. So now way to specify a history file?	[reply]
