Hello All,

I wasn't sure where to post this, so apologies if this is not the place.

I wanted to say how great Perl Monks is at helping out noobs compared with knuckle dragging neanderthals at place like stack overflow. People here are generally orders of magnitude nicer.

Cudos to the site.

It is the monastery that appeals you to a certain tone. In here, the monks do not use perl a a mere tool... they breath it, they master it, then conquer it, to finally master and conquer themselves. Such is the power of perl-fu.
Questions can be functional, or philosophical. When you stand there, and state your question. You are surrounded by a big amount of monks. Some snoring, others scrutinize you with their eyes. Most are strict and use warnings. Some have a deep knowledge of cooking in a pan, this oriental c-pan, and can fry a dish in under 2 minutes. Others have lexical virtues beyond what is humanly possible, and continuously raise the foo-bar.

Now if you could step aside, I was cleaning the floors as a daily duty to keep the grounds clean... thank you.

I believe the monastery also stands out because it attracts a better quality of noob. Questions here seem to be better thought out, better researched and better elucidated. Where the knuckle dragging neanderthal brand of noob seems to prefer S.O. for their ridiculous requests.

I've been known to shut down a browser window in disgust over more than one S.O. Perl question.
