Hi, I realise this is a two year old thread but in case you are still looking for help with this I have working code for detecting available MIDI devices, for MIDI OUT and sort of got MIDI IN working with WIN32API::MIDI, too. I'm saying sort of because I can receive sysex dumps but right after receiving them Perl terminates. It looks like something in WIN32API::MIDI causes this but I haven't figured it out yet. If you are interested in sharing experiences and working together on this give me shout.
