in thread Is there an option to see the non answered questions?
Hello Anonymous,
Do not get me wrong, when I say questions passed unanswered I might also mean question that might get a reply after 24 or 48 hours.
I am sure that you have felt the pressure and the need when you are trying to complete a project or a task and you have gotten stack and you are trying to understand why, so you are hopping that an expert can assist you or help you with. In this kind of cases every hour matters.
But apart from that rear cases, if a question remains unanswered for more than 5-10 hours the user which constantly be checking for a possible reply, he might get disappointed or discouraged that his question can not get an answer. In this cases also question will be lost among the other questions in the list and it will pass unnoticed.
Maybe I sound a bit extreme but I can provide you with an example, one of my questions (e.g. RRD::Simple .eps Format). I asked the question on Apr 06, 2014 at 14:00 GMT, I was working on it constantly. I got only one reply at Apr 06, 2014 at 19:25 GMT. Unfortunately the reply to my question was not covered by the suggestion it did not work. I never got any other replies on that question. It is dead since then, of course at the end after experimenting with other modules also I got my answer where I post the solution on Apr 11, 2014 at 09:01. But I mean if I was not so stubborn enough to try again and again other alternatives I would have not found a possible solution.
I am not accusing or expecting people spend a great amount of time trying to solve all questions. But I mean I have seen it happening a couple of times so I was hopping that might be an option to choose and see the non answered questions. :D
Well again as I said this is only just a suggestion, maybe it will get implemented or not, but still forum remains the best discussion forum in Perl that I have found. I hope every new user gets the same feeling.
