No, I don’t think it’s at all representative of Australia; or of anywhere else (I hope). I think it illustrates the excesses to which some (hopefully few-and-far-between) employers (or HR departments) will go in the vain search for the perfect employee. (Who likely doesn’t exist — and who, if he did exist, would almost certainly never be found by this self-defeating style of recruitment.)
