Is matter of order?..(UPDATE: evidently not seen the anonym's answer above..) `BEGIN{($path = $0) =~ s[[\\/][^\\/]+$][];} BEGIN{ use lib $path;}` [download] gives no error. L* There are no rules, there are no thumbs.. Reinvent the wheel, then learn The Wheel; may be one day you reinvent one of THE WHEELS.	[reply] [d/l]

`BEGIN{($path = $0) =~ s[[\\/][^\\/]+$][];} BEGIN{ use lib $path;}` [download] use implies `BEGIN`, so that `BEGIN` should not be needed. There is a simpler way: `use lib do { ... }`, shown in Re^2: Calculations before using lib;. Combined with the `s///r` syntax from newer perls, this can be collapsed to `use lib do { $0=~s[[\\/][^\\/]+$][]r };`.
