in thread how hard is it to find a job without a degree?

if I asked it at a perlmongers meeting over drinks, I think I might get a short anecdote "yeah, my cousin just ..."

Except you're posting anonymously on the Internet. If you're going to a PerlMongers meeting, or a job interview, introduce yourself first.

Is the question confusing somehow?

No, just lazy, and people are probably being careful not to waste too much time on it.

isn't that what the internet is for? Would it have helped if I signed up for an account, and posted as "someguy1234" or "robert1234"? Would that make me less anonymous?

Ok, so my question is lazy ... a lot of questions are, so why waste any time at all on my question?

I'm not trying to take advantage somehow, I'm not playing some kind of trick; Its not like I asked for full working code, a novel, a job ...

Just maybe an encouraging story if you have one, a glimmer of hope ... the world could use a few more perl programmers right?

    Thanks just the same
