astroman has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Dear Monks,

I am somewhat new to fitting functions with PDL and want to avoid reinventing the wheel. Is there a way to fit a Landau distribution to data using PDL? If not, is LMFit the way to accomplish this?

Thanks!

Greetings, I am not very knowledgeable about such refined statistic concept (I kinda tend to stick to my blunt normal distribution and central limit theorem) but you might find some interesting things there : Math::GSL::Randist

Good luck on your quest and godspeed!
