    The advantages to the modules is (some of them) handle links, report back on specific failures, have settings for how to handle that, know about FS differences, and they are more… well, modular… so they can be dropped into code with different concerns easily—in one or two lines half the time—rather than editing a custom sub over and the drift and accumulation of cruft and lack of unified bug fixes.

      I apologize for the double post. I just made an account on here as I've found lots of useful stuff here in learning perl. Can I remove posts? Otherwise a moderator or something would have to remove it. Again, sorry for the double post.
