Depending on the tool you use to install modules (cpan cpanp cpanm clients) you can always force the installation when tests fail (typically -f switch).

In addition you can check the usefull cpantester matrix to get an idea about the installability of the module. Some module are not well distributed to go in every OSs but probably is not that case, being the author one of most smart here around..

Is important to see also what perl version are you using, ie the output of perl -v. Note also that is considered bad practice to modify the system's perl and adviceable to have another perl under your path.
