thanks for the input Yeh PPM is great, no problems at all. I have installed NET::SSH but i have my doubts about it looking at its cpan page. it appears that it isnt maintained. With SSH now pretty standard everywhere I feel that in 2015 perl is letting itself down here, its SSH support terrible! is it time to move to something newer?

Net::SSH has been succeeded by Net::SSH2 I checked Activestate's PPM archive for Net::SSH2, but it is listed as "build failed" on MS Windows. I don't know why this would be the case as Strawberry Perl includes a working build of Net::SSH2 A user on Stackoverflow mentions a 3rd party PPM package for Net::SSH2 http://stackoverflow.com/questions/32454561/net-ssh2-for-perl-5-20-2-on-windows-2008-r2 There may be others, too. but im not though lots cant install the so called modules, if CPAN doesnt work the first time, forget it is my experience! PPM is fine though.	[reply]
