    Yes, salva is an expert in all things ssh, and he has already given you good advice. There's no need to vent your frustrations here.

      i didnt realise is was salva on here when i first posted it.

      I just think this is a useful page for those who come here with SSH in mind.

        It's bad form to alter the content of your post without marking the changes, especially since people have already responded and you've deleted the context. This is touched on here (among other places):

        Don't ever wipe the original content of any node you've written, even if you've solved your problem; you're clarifying your issue; or you realize you just made a "D'oh!" Mark the changed/new content with the word "Update." Don't delete! Doing so is likely to make replies you've received unintelligble to future readers. Use <strike> ... </strike> if you must.
