LastGen Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Can anyone help me with a Perl statement/s that will help me copy the part of the content of folder to another folder and adds the time and date when the copy was made? For example Folder A: (in C:\Initial.log) Content ID= 125D54741D522D4521 PART NO. = G2456D Folder B: (in C:\Final.log) ONLY THE ID needs to be copied here and when copied, it should show the date and time when it was copied in the destination folder (FILE B).

Which folder? Folder == file or folder == directory? See the Tutorials for tips on opening and reading files and directories.
