Professionally, I have been working in life sciences and information technology. First programming experiences with HP BASIC as a high school student a looong time ago. Extensive experience with C/C++, PASCAL/Modula, assembly language for various processors. Some exposure to R, FORTRAN and other even more exotic things such as APL. Moved on to web based systems on Linux/Apache platforms in the new millenium using Perl as a reasonably stable tool for project implementations.
