morgon has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hi,

sorry for abusing this site as it's not Perl wisdom that I seek here but travel tips.

I am thinking about going to the YAPC Europe in Cluj but can't seem to find decent flights...

Ideally I would fly from Frankurt/Germany but all the flights I can find are either sensible but expensive (north of EUR 500) or cheap but ridiculous (I don't want to have a stop-over for 13 hrs in Warsaw or arrive at 1am).

Are there any other ways to get there, maybe flying to Bukarest and then taking a train or whatever (I don't mind having a little adventure)?

As I guess I am not the only one having this problem I'd be thankful for every tip.

There are quite cheap (70euros return) direct flights available from Nuremberg!
Thanks a lot for the wizzair tip.

The first time I see travel advice to be best post of the day :-)

Maybe a genuine travel agent can help? Or are the just "this is what I sell, wanna buy" type of business?

Well, "in theory" you could also go to London when coming from overseas. You can go by train to Cluj, but that will take you a day.

The real question is: Why not use the stop-over in Warsaw for sight seeing? I mean, when you're already there, you might as well decide to spend the night or even a couple of days - it's a very nice town, after all.
