in the file parse4 You are opening the file `data4.txt` not `parse4`. Change that and you'll maybe have better luck. Although I'd also recommend a quick read of How do I post a question effectively?	[reply] [d/l] [select]

You might need to specify full path to your file if your script is not in the same dir. `open(my $fh,'/full/path/to/file/data4.txt') or die "Could not open file [$!]";`	[reply] [d/l]
