    in the file parse4

    You are opening the file data4.txt not parse4. Change that and you'll maybe have better luck.

    Although I'd also recommend a quick read of How do I post a question effectively?

      Is it fine now?

        Not really, no. Please now read How do I change/delete my post?, paying particular attention to the section headed "It is uncool to update a node in a way that renders replies confusing or meaningless". Thank you.

    There is no 'parse4' file mentioned here, also this is identical code to your previous post, which has answers.

    You might need to specify full path to your file if your script is not in the same dir.

    open(my $fh,'/full/path/to/file/data4.txt') or die "Could not open file [$!]";
