Re^2: Number of replies shown in Monastery Gates incorrect?

I actually already had that option on. The behavior I see is that with it on, the regex issue thread I mentioned shows "3 replies" in The Monastery Gates but "11 replies" in Seekers of Perl Wisdom.

If I remove that option (uncheck it), and look at both again, I see it says "3 direct replies" in both sections.

Again, just FYI.

UPDATE: I should clarify, that based on the portion of Help for User Settings that you quoted, this does seem like a glitch to me (albeit, a very small one). That quoted explanation implies to me the intent is to display the reply count the same way, according to the display option selected in an individual's settings, regardless of what section you are in.

Or I'm a crazy person, which is an increasingly likely possibility.

Oh, interesting. I just assumed it was that setting, since it behaves as if that setting is off. If it's not a bug, then it's a highly counter-intuitive feature, based on the reading of the user settings help -- since I would interpret the help in such a way that the setting applies to the Gates as well as to individual sections, unless otherwise noted.
