Woof, well since that post is from 2009 I'm assuming they decided not to implement that feature at all then.

No worries I guess, it just gives me pause every time I do it where I have any update with links or code or anything more substantial than just plain text and I can't "check" it first.

:) well open new tab to reply to your own node, preview preview preview ... could always compose nodes/replies/edits on your homenode, that way if your browser crashes your content is saved	[reply]

Well yes, there are always workarounds like that, I was just hoping for the added convenience of having the button right there when I need it. Not really a big deal, just something that seemed like an improvement to me so I suggested it.
