I just checked the color scheme of the counting rods they're selling in the shops. (Yes, I could have done this any time in the previous eight years. Sorry for being late.)

1: white
2: light pink
3: light blue
4: red
5: yellow
6: purple
7: black
8: dark brown
9: dark blue
10: orange
12: green
16: light brown
