How can the button be set up to attach the filename to the button which sends it off to another method on the click?

The program you have posted already does that

:D almost https://metacpan.org/pod/Mojolicious::Plugin::TagHelpers#submit_button says `submit_button "value", id =>"id";` so you need `submit_button $filename, id => "id";`	[reply] [d/l] [select]
