rama133101 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I know this is a common question that many have already asked. I know there has been a Bug reported to support IPv6 in Net:Ping. But, looks like there hasn't been any update on that. Is there any other library that supports IPv6 ping?

Please help!

Is this the bug you are referring to?

    More information is better. :)

Thanks PJ. We owe you so much. Groklaw -- RIP -- 2003 to 2013.

I submitted that bug and partial patch many years ago. Since then, Net::Ping has undergone a few version updates - still not including IPv6. I'm quite sure the patch will no longer work and to be honest, as stated in the report, it wasn't quite finished anyway.

The latest version on CPAN Net::Ping seems to support IPv6 but I haven't tested. Seems the bug is still open though?
