It appears this is a known issue: https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=42480: “There is, as yet, no fix for the memory issues in Win32::Exe.” (the module’s maintainer, May, 2010)

Did you follow the link? Did you not see the author's suggested alternative for your requirement? (ie. Win32::File::VersionInfo )	[reply]
