Some are trying, some aren't, which is fine. Those who aren't willing to make any effort are unlikely to get the response they want, more often than not a 'do this for me' style post. Occasionally someone finds themselves at a loose end or simply feels like providing a solution for such posts. Also fine, but less likely to be a repeatable event. Those who are willing will (in my experience) be given advice and resources to bring them up to speed and address their problem.
