in thread Getting Perl 6 on Debian Jessie with Rakudo?

The only things I don't do on my Linux installations is a) muck with system Perl; and b) muck with system Python. Beyond that, anything is fair game (using reasonable judgment of course... if apt-get install can, I will. In this case, since it worked directly, I'd say it's a supported repo, not an unsupported one ;).

    Also worth pointing out there's a difference between unofficial repos and 'unsupported' repos.

    What's your opinion on using cpanm to install modules? I use it all the time but no idea if it's going to cause me headaches down the road. I'm just kind of praying that it won't.

    $PM = "Perl Monk's";
    $MCF = "Most Clueless Friar Abbot Bishop Pontiff Deacon Curate";
    $nysus = $PM . ' ' . $MCF;

      It's almost all I use. Sometimes I'll switch to just cpan if I actually want to see the output displayed live time, but that's pretty rare.

        You can get the output displayed in real time by using the -v option, which also enables interactive config. cpanm.
