Getting the key from the registry and decodeing it are two wholy differnt things See the links thanos1983 posted for where/how to get the key from the registry (for XP)	[reply]

Hello huck, I will agree with you, Anonymous Monk try the other link that I have posted and let us know if it is working. Update: Also take a look at (Win32API::Registry - Low-level access to Win32 system API calls from WINREG.H). It contains a lot of information regarding 32 bit WindowsOS and Perl. Hope this helps. I'm pretty sure that's because the original code may have been written against a 32-bit version of windows, but you are on a 64-bit version. Can you confirm this?	[reply]

Hello stevieb, I think the code is compatible with WindowsOS 64 and he is running 32 bit. So maybe the XP code would work. Seeking for Perl wisdom...on the process of learning...not there...yet!	[reply] [d/l] [select]
