Out of curiosity what was the cause of the failure above?
You mean the original error? Or the fact it didn't work for me with your original answer? If the latter, it was because I hadn't cd'd into the correct folder :)

    Ah, yeah, that was part of the reason for my somewhat long winded answer, illustrating the paths and so on. Perhaps I'll create a mini FAQ as this does come up from time to time, and can be confusing to those who've never used patch before.
