Another consideration is whether you're running under taint mode.

In "perlsec - Perl security", take a look at "Taint mode" and "Taint mode and @INC".

In "perlrun - Perl execution and options", take a look at "the '-T' switch" and "PERL5LIB".

    Thank you for the links. I followed them, and I think I get it, but I gotta say, I'm a little over my head here. It's daunting how many permutations there are. And I suspect this is just the beginning.
