Can you link to something official documenting this on the ActiveState site, perhaps a maintained support matrix showing what to expect would be useful for users?

Thank you, this is exactly the resource I had in mind, it'll be great to be able to point people to this page when the question is asked in future. Cheers.

Update: 16/05/2020 it seems the page provided is not maintained, as it does not reflect the current offerings from ActiveState.

I appreciate this, however I was thinking more along the lines of a concrete statement on the ActiveState website that reflects what rawktron said. I've used Strawberry since it was in Alpha and have never experienced a problem (that I can remember), so I'd continue to advise people to use that rather than ActiveState, but I feel that an official reference for this issue would be beneficial to those who do need to use AS for whatever reason, if it were maintained in terms of version numbers etc, rather than a post on an unrelated website, from a new user (first post) that I don't know.
