This means that likely, there is a different proxy that your script now needs to talk to.

I recommend talking to your system administrator to find out how your program can speak to the outside world.

yes i can ask that tomorrow. But I followed the instructions on here and i think i found out? https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-find-my-http-proxy-port-number Now the error msg is "Couldn't get http://search.cpan.org/403 Forbidden" (but i actually can access the page without perl)	[reply]

So most likely, it is your proxy that tells you that the page you're trying to request is forbidden. Maybe you need to supply additional credentials to your proxy.	[reply]
