vbrtrmn has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I've been curious about this for awhile but haven't seen any information about how to do it.
For example on the site AddAll.com, when you do a search using their CGI script, they'll have search results appear on the screen as they come back:
6 bookstores searched .. 28 to go
6 bookstores searched .. 28 to go
12 bookstores searched .. 22 to go
18 bookstores searched .. 16 to go
24 bookstores searched .. 10 to go

Then the results will appear.
Can anyone give me insight as to how this is done?

Thanks

It's just unbuffered output. In CGI, this is often referred to as nph scripts (non-parsed header). See the CGI docs for more.
