My pmdev skills are still very limited, by I guess the related code is:

my $orderby = $VARS->{notesortorder}
           ||  $settings->{orderby}
           ||  "createtime";

The $orderby is later used in an ORDER BY clause in SQL. I don't know how to check the database yet.
