Nerd since forever
"Script kiddie", ie. minor changes, combos of random googling most of the times do work.
INTENSLY frustratied with perl and java since.. the first time I've ever touched them.
In a professional position where I simply have to accept that perl is the defacto "powershell" for *nix. (ie. I'm more of a vbs guy that powershell anyways)
Personality, I DO NOT WANT TO LEARN! Combined with INTENSE NEED TO UNDERSTAND SHIT I DO OFTEN!
Perl specifics, read somewhere some perl snippet oneliner about
other places there's 1 way to do it, here there's many ways
.
Since my prof. life is 95% "minimize support crew workload" and their work is ruled by a home brewed perl based infrastructure. I need to reverse engineer the system that is undocumented, keep it alive with the 5% time left after solving the daily major issues. I simply do not have the personal interest levels enough to suck this up on spare time and I do not like to do it. I will force myself to learn this to some kind of master ninja level since it's my current world.
I'm here looking for the absolutely fastest way to become good enough super fast.
Where am I today 2017, I surprised myself a few days ago by writing a perl thingie that explored structure and content of a sql server in perl on a client with the perl stuff needed but no mysql native client installed. 15 minutes, that was to me a great achievement. This was a good thing but I'm intensly aware of facts such as "there is no way anything I do goes to production". Also the script kiddie in me made it with the help of google pointing me to snippets on this site. ie. I'm a noob but I'm enough experienced in other "real" programming languages to script kiddie around in perl. I've realized that my current most intense lack of knowledge is complete understanding and experience with $#@ and related vanilla methods.
Any1 that got tips on how to bruteforce $#@ into my brain for 20 minutes a day please give any tips u got. Trying my best here while pretending to have a life :-D
First bio ever written since I lied on facebook for the first time :-D
