This may explain the origin of some monks' love of combinatorics ... I would have thought the opposite, at least in my case. There is almost no chance of getting a mixed pair, drawing 2 socks, even in the dark. It's still light enough to make out white vs. black, and each color is in its own box. I would have thought the opposite, at least in my case. There is almost no chance of getting a mixed pair, drawing 2 socks, even in the dark. It's still light enough to make out white vs. black, and each color is in its own box. "Two from this box" is all it takes.
