    Thanks for posting that. It does have a slight undercurrent of ActiveState marketing (perhaps to be expected considering the source); however, that didn't seem to be the main focus, which was more about promoting Perl.

      Nobody seems to talk about it, but it is still used a lot, even for new work, even more than he expected, and he knew the download numbers from activestate.

        I'd be interested in similar stats for Strawberry Perl, and how they compared to the AS download stats.
