1978: IBM 1170... Basic on someone's mainframe... edt... DEC assembler... HP Fortran... VMS Fortran... VMS system manager... DCL... C... Qunix... lots of VMS and C... DataLogics... more VMS and C... C++... Python (very briefly)... Perl... Perl for testing... wrote a Perl HTML slurp and regurtitate testing thing as my first real Perl development project, in a Windows shop testing a WebSphere ebilling monstrosity... then they laid me off (2003) and I ditched that career and went off in the back room to run a CNC router to make small parts and big parts and jigs for a musical instrument company. Once in a while I even do a tiny bit of assembler-like code, tweaking the G-Code! Meanwhile, keeping my hand in on an endless Perl -- PDL -- Moose -- Prima -- lots of other modules project, kind of a music-writer-editor thing; deep fun doing something just for my own delight. Then that got stalled behind getting really seriously interested in astrophysics, so now I'm digging into Perl Data Language.
