I'm rather sure I would disagree with your claim. It is illogical and demonstrably false. I will, in point of fact, disprove it by multiple examples. What is the shortest word in the English language to contain the letters z and x? Which is the shortest to include q and z? Which is the shortest to include b and c? To include r and w? y and p? d and m?	[reply]

Ummm, I’m quite sure that you will agree that “the very-shortest word,” whatever it is, could not by definition include any other letters ... Nonsense. The shortest word containing the letter "f" may be "if" or some other word with two letters including an "f,", but there isn't any word containing only the letter "f" (as far as I know, at least).
