Actually, the square peg will fit through the circular hole so long as the length of the square's side is less than the hole's diameter ... though you might need to shorten the length of the peg.

If the length of the peg is equal to the length of the square's side then it is a cube. If the length of the peg is equal to or less than the length of the square's side but greater than about half the length of the square's side then it is a block. If the length of the peg is much less than the length of the square's side and the length of the square's side is greater than the diameter of a can or bottle of beer then it is a coaster.	[reply]
