trouble posting (update: https redirection)

I don't know if it's just me or my browser becoming wonky, but I had much trouble posting and updating posts in the last 60 minutes.

For some reason I was always redirected to the monastery gates and had to go back and send again multiple times.

C&P into a new tab often helped.

Solution

this seems to be related to https redirection. I followed old links and saw a http version of the forms (actually the http:// part was hidden), but after posting I was redirected to the https:// version of the start page.

Actually it shouldn't be possible to ever open Perlmonks in normal http. Reading that PM is now also run on new Linux boxes seem to indicate that the redirection is incomplete there.
