What's the workaround for not wanting your account details stored in plaintext?

Not being the kind of stick-stupid autopwndn00b who uses the same password as the one on their bank account is a good start. Fake name. Anonymous email service. Getting a commit bit and fixing it if it’s really that important to you.

        Simple, use cryptic details!

        Cheers Rolf

Yeah, sometimes it blocks even safe links like [doc://...] or [id://...], other times I manage to sneak in an external link without logging in.
