…Yeah, no. For every rude response here, and there are plenty to find, to an unintentionally stupid, badly formed, half-baked, or offensive question, you can find ten gracious, helpful, perfect, above-and-beyond answers. Monks putting in the equivalent of hundreds, in some cases thousands, of dollars of consulting time. Some of the best Perl hackers in the world giving you hours and hours of free help.

To demonstrate how misguided your conclusion is, I offer that the monk who commented above me, 1nickt, and I have had fairly acrimonious disagreements about certain issues and yet agree, at least close to, completely on PerlMonks culture and helping those who ask for help instead of dictating the rules of decorum and offering nothing of value in return.

      It's truly wonderful.

Your conclusions do not match your evidence. But if you are concerned about the reputation of PerlMonks with regard to new programmers asking questions, why not try answering some instead of just bitching about it?

    Hope this helps!

The way forward always starts with a minimal test.

you created your account only in June and made 20 posts so far, all but 3 attacking this board.

Please explain why we should take you serious?
