One longer variant, also with extra spaces, but with less than two of them on each line:

perl -pe 'ARNDBCEQZGHILKMFPSTWYV=~/$_(?{print pos.$"})/ for/./g,$_=$/'

And with similar idea but a bit shorter:

perl -pe 's/./ARNDBCEQZGHILKMFPSTWYV=~m!$&!&&"@+ "/ge'
