It's still a problem. Ebay's been known to pull a "oops, we had to reset these settings due to a bad server configuration...." just to spam, and that's opt-out.

      True, but if it goes opt-out or single opt-in, you becha your 1000 quatloos that someone's going to get spammed and is going to complain to Perlmonk's upstream and try to toss it off the net.

      Yes, there are ISP's like that who have admins which like to launch nuclear missiles at sites who spam. Evil, yes, but it's much better than getting SPEWed.

      (And yes, I'm being that paranoid for a reason. This is a warning, and there's millions of antispammers out there in the world who rather not get ticked off... thankfully, I carry a large blacklist...)
