It seems to me that there are a lot of really nifty nodes hanging around the Monastery that don't get a lot of press, because they aren't mentioned in any of the nodelets or menus (that I can find...). For instance:

Now, my questions (er, "discussion points") are two:

  1. What other cool but obscure "utility" nodes are lurking out there?
  2. What (including, but not limited to, nothing) can we do to make these nodes more accessible?

A good way to find interesting nodes is lurking in the homenodes of other users, and in their scratchpad: collecting a list of good nodes it's a common practice in the Monastery.
However, I think the problem does exist. In Lack of structure. Channeling structure I've pointed out it, and I've proposed a possible solution. Tell me what you think about it.

Pretty much, if you turn on all the nodelet/boxes in your user preferences, all of these nodes are in these (many in Leftovers). But this certainly doesn't fully enumerate them at this point.

It's not what you know, but knowing how to find it if you don't know that's important

Well, I turned on all nodelets and couldn't find these:

Most Visited Nodes (I only found 2 that were actually articles!)
borg's belly (more strange than nifty)

(BTW, Nodes to consider, I would think, is only above a certain level.)

ALSO, while we're on a similar subject, what happenned to the CPAN nodelet? Did it die because of connection difficulties hanging up page loads?
