From an interface standpoint, the regular search does have a few pitfalls. The one that you stumbled over (namely that "exact matches" take you directly to a page even if that page isn't what you're looking for -- i.e. Personal Nodelet or AI) has two work arounds...

• Avoid the "exact match" by adding some gibberish to your query...
  Personal Nodelet asdf returns a good result set.
• Use Super Search instead.
