I have been hitting "Newest Nodes" looking for questions to answer and unfortunately did not notice that Q&A does not show up here so I was missing things I could answer.... Or am I brain-damaged in some way?

Q&A does show up in the
Newest Nodes
page, towards the bottom, and is called
Categorized Questions
and "Categorized Answers"

Also note that entire topics will not show up if there are no recent entries for it. "Tutorials" is rarely shown, for example.
