in reply to Should someone contribute an article for these people..
Um... I'm flattered. I will admit that I tend to be a good writer when I put my mind to it, but wise? I can't own up to that. I'm a decent programmer, but not a brilliant one. Part of the reason I've had some nodes with good reps is because I will sometimes be confused about a topic, research it, and then write up a new post to learn it. I am simply not a brilliant programmer and putting me in a list with davorg and TheDamian is definitely a stretch.
Interestingly, this dovetails quite nicely with an an interview with Damian on pair.com to which Erudil just posted a link. In this article, TheDamian wrote that Perl Monks is a place for individuals to polish, improve, and showcase their Perl skills. If you read through some of my earlier posts, you'll see me getting confused about CGI security, how to handle uploads, or whining about not knowing OO Perl (I know I whined, but I can't find any references). Now, I feel fairly comfortable with those issues, so I can say that Perl Monks has helped me out there. I still have a long way to go, however. Most of the Saints have far superior Perl skills.
Cheers,
Ovid
