I'm trying to find a "simple" way to track/capture/acknowledge the successful completion of FTP file transfers inititated by remote clients, without having to alter permissions on ftp or xfer logs (or running scripts with setuid root). Any suggestions?

    Sentinel files? Append a timestamp to the uploaded file name during the upload, then rename it after completion?
