tgummels has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hey Folks,

Trying to write a service on win2k and would like to use Event and IPC-LDT modules. Unfortunately I don't have VC++ or I would try to compile the modules myself. If anyone has already compiled these modules, knows how to compile them with out vc++ or knows that they won't work on W2k please let me know. ppm is turning them up but it won't install them.
