dooberwah has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Greetings all,

Well, after fiximg my last problem with DBI.pm I found another. While recompiling the DBI module (in hopes of fixing it) I ran the make test script and it produced this error for nearly every test:

... Can't load 'blib/arch/auto/DBI/DBI.so' for module DBI: blib/arch/auto/ +DBI/DBI.so: undefined symbol: __dso_handle at /usr/local/lib/perl5/5. +6.1/i686-linux/DynaLoader.pm line 206. at blib/lib/DBI.pm line 235 ...

I've spent the past few hours trying to find any mention of this mysterious __dso_handle anywhere in the DBI docs or in other questions. It looks like it's some sort of internal variable for the DBI package. I have no idea what it does, just that it isn't doing it right.

Thanks.

I'm not sure what platform you're on, but you may want to take a look at this thread.
